Shipping is extra, quoted live from the printer for your address and never marked up.
Sales tax is calculated for your address at checkout and remitted — if it cannot be determined the quote fails loudly rather than quietly reporting zero. What’s the difference between the options?
Nothing about the STORY. The book is written and illustrated the same way whichever row you pick, and the first half is free to read — every page of it, nothing blurred. Either keepsake opens the rest: the $7.00 keepsake is the clean file and watermark-free reading forever, and the $40.00 hardcover is the object, with the file included.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes, and you are never asked to buy the same book twice. The hardcover keepsake includes the digital keepsake, so if you buy the file first the difference is all you pay for the book afterwards. An approved book does not expire — order another copy years later and it is the same file the press already had.
How long does delivery take?
The dated windows are above, worked out from today rather than quoted as a range of business days: printing and binding take three to five business days, then the parcel ships tracked. Shipping is passed on at exactly the printer’s price for your address, itemised beside the book and the tax, and never marked up. For a handful of destinations it costs more than the book, and checkout says so rather than quietly losing money or quietly inflating the price.
Buying for a birthday? Count back from the day of the party in working days, not calendar days: 10 business days for the tracked ground service and 8 for expedited, worst case. Order by then and it arrives with days in hand; both dates are on screen again at checkout for the address you enter.
The one number not on this page is the shipping itself. We will not print a figure we would have to guess at: it is quoted from the printer for your address, shown in full with the tax and the total before anything is irreversible, and you can leave at that screen.
Can I share the digital story?
Yes. The keepsake PDF is yours — print it at home, put it in your own backups, send it to a grandparent. A book you have made can also be shared as a link that anyone can open without an account — they read the same first half you did — and you can withdraw that link at any time.
What exactly am I buying, in print?
Twelve illustrated spreads inside a 32-page hardcover — 17 screens to turn in the reader, the first half of them free. A casewrap hardcover: the illustration is printed directly onto the board rather than onto a paper jacket that gets lost. For two hours after you order, cancel yourself in one click for a full refund — nothing has been printed yet. After that the book is manufactured, and the guarantee still holds: if what arrives is damaged, mis-bound or simply not the book you approved, we reprint it or refund it for thirty days from the day it lands.
